I picked up this book in an english book store in Amsterdam a few weeks ago.
As the title says, it's a little history of the world, forty chapters telling the most important events in the entire history of man. It's been originally written for kids but I am really enjoying the reading and I am also learning a lot.
I don't know what happens in your countries' schools, but in mine, the teaching of history forgets some big chapters (all the asian history, and the history of religion for instance). This book will fill these gaps and maybe it will instill in you the curiosity to broaden your knowledge of some particular subject.
Moreover, I am lookin forward the moment when I'll be able to read it to my daughter...

Today I had the opportunity to choose between a beautiful skiing day and a boring day at home with my beautiful 9 months daughter.
Sofia already knows ski slopes and chair lifts because we are a ski addicted family, but after an entire day in a chalet with mum and daddy that take care of her in turn (so that the other one can ski) she gets very tired... so I decided for another approach: today my husband will ski and I'll stay with the baby and tomorrow we'll exchange the roles.
I did it because usually we take the baby with us at every appointment, with every condition, always trying to respect her needs obviously, but not forgetting ours too. And it's working fine, but sometimes it's weird being the only ones with kids in the "adults" environment.
So I tried to be a regular mum for today, and I am thinking if being a regular mom means being a good mum...

Another holiday dinner with my family.
My mum cooking everything delicious you can imegine and still thinking it's not enough...
My husband and my father looking for any possible way of escape. All they really want is a quiet place where they can read a book without anyone talking or screaming or asking them to prepare the table
